Distribution center optimizes picking and storage with EFFIMAT 4
At a distribution center in Denmark, the implementation of four EFFIMAT 4 solutions has enabled a more efficient and space-optimized handling of goods.
Reduced manual handling
Improved workflow and order picking efficiency
Solution
4 x Effimat 4
The distribution center in Zealand, Denmark needed to increase efficiency, reduce manual handling, and optimize storage capacity within the existing footprint. The previous setup was based on traditional shelving in the picking area, resulting in unnecessary manual transport, inefficient use of space, and a less ergonomic working environment.
Four 8-meter-high EFFIMAT 4 solutions were installed in the picking area, significantly reducing manual handling. The solution automates both picking and storage of items, ensuring a consistent and efficient material flow.
With the implementation of EFFIMAT 4, both storage and order picking processes are automated. Goods are stored vertically and delivered directly to the operator, improving ergonomics by minimizing unnecessary movement and heavy lifting.
At the same time, the compact vertical design optimizes storage capacity by utilizing the full height of the facility, requiring significantly less floor space compared to traditional shelving.
The solution was implemented in collaboration with Halbyg and integrated seamlessly into the existing setup with minimal disruption to daily operations.
The result is a more efficient and structured warehouse operation, where space utilization is optimized, manual work is reduced, and daily workflows are improved.
