After 10 years as CEO – and as one of two founders – Jørgen Flemming Ladefoged has decided that the time to try something new has come. Peder Villemoes will take over as new CEO the 1st of June.
Funen-based EFFIMAT produces some of the world’s leading warehouse robots for storage and fast picking of everything from small goods to hospital beds. The company started in 2011 as a good idea at the kitchen table. Today, close to 300 systems are in operation around the world at global customers like Audi, Saint Gobain and one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturers Sanmina, but local technology leaders like Juliana Drivhuse and Newtech have also embraced EFFIMAT’s solutions. EFFIMAT currently employs 38 people from its headquarters in Tietgenbyen outside Odense.
Jørgen Flemming Ladefoged says:
“We had an idea to revolutionize the technology behind warehouse robots. Technologically it was not easy, but the market has responded with overwhelming interest and the company has had patient owners who have been able to see the vision for the company. These have been the hardest and most demanding years of my working life, but they have been worth it. When we started, my family agreed to give the entrepreneurial adventure 10 years. They have now passed. I am proud that we now have a sustainable business that faces significant growth in the years ahead.”
EFFIMAT has revolutionized parts of the warehouse automation market, opening up opportunities for which there were no solutions before. EFFIMAT is therefore becoming a key building block in the core processes of many large international companies, including the German automotive industry and the world’s leading logistics companies. We have developed the HospiMat for bed storage in the hospital industry, where we most recently won the project for Stavanger’s new high-tech hospital.
Chairman of the Board Clas Nylandsted Andersen says:
“Jørgen Flemming Ladefoged has done a great job in turning a good idea into a viable business. We can be proud of companies like EFFIMAT, where innovative technology develops new and better solutions for customers. EFFIMAT contributes to this in an excellent way and with the choice of Peder Villemoes as the new CEO, we ensure that EFFIMAT can take the next step into a global market and exploit the great potential that the company has”.
The Board and the owners express their gratitude to Jørgen Flemming Ladefoged for his efforts over 10 years.
Peder Villemoes has a long career in medium-sized companies, but also has experience with smaller companies and with starting his own companies.

Peder Villemoes has a very broad business experience, which matches what EFFIMAT needs.
The robotics and automation industry is growing at a rapid pace, and with Peder Villemoes’ educational and professional background, the owners and board expect to maintain and expand its technological lead. The owners are therefore delighted to attract Peder and look forward to working with him.
